Vikings May Have Taken a Native American to Iceland

A genetic study in Iceland is showing evidence that there might be some Native American blood in a select group of Icelanders.

The C1 lineage, only seen in Asians and Native Americans, appears in this small group (approx 350 people) of Icelanders. Upon further investigation it turns out that this group descends further from 1 of 4 women who were all descended from a single woman, who lived about 500 years before Columbus brought European blood to the Americas in 1492.
