Brit engineer saves his own life, using his brain, to fix his heart

A British engineer suffering from Marfan syndrome (a connective tissue disorder) has decided this existing fix of a "five-hour invasive slice-and-dice" then requiring blood thinners for the foreseeable future, wasn't good enough. He designed the above implant to support the damaged part of the Aorta preventing blood clots and eliminating the need for dangerous blood thinners. He was the first person to receive the device and since then ~23 more have gotten it with fantastic results.

Cheers mate.
