Back in 1971 a guy calling himself DB (Dan) Cooper got on a plane, showed an air hostess what appeared to be a bomb forced the plane to land in Seattle then demanded a $200,000 ransom with 4 parachutes. He then released 36 passengers on receipt of the money and parachutes. Next the plane was ordered to fly to Mexico.
----
From FBI.gov:
Somewhere between Seattle and Reno, a little after 8:00 p.m., the hijacker did the incredible: he jumped out of the back of the plane with a parachute and the ransom money. The pilots landed safely, but Cooper had disappeared into the night and his ultimate fate remains a mystery to this day.
----
He was never heard from again. In 1980 a young boy found several tattered $20 bills in the area presumably near where he jumped out of the plane. Now today new clues emerged.
