Your relative's computer...

This year I'm not traveling far, but normally I go home and am immediately forced to deal with a computer that hasn't been updated since the last time I was there.


If its not too late to pretend you don't know anything about computers, read below.

Short version:
Assuming its a windows environment:
Install the latest version of Firefox/Chrome*, change the icon to use the IE icon if the computer's owner "doesn't need a new browser", download/run ccleaner, download/run defraggler, download/run microsoft security essentials and malwarebytes.
