A story from Gothamist.com a few weeks ago leaked that a Long Island high school has officially banned same-sex couples from attending the prom together, my high school. I don't think I really need to make a comment above the letter I posted to them (see below) then their canned response.

full screenshot -> http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/f1e83206dc.jpg The only final remarks I have are, did you really "review it carefully" if I said "I will never make a donation to the Alumni association and will encourage my many friends and family involved in St. Anthony's to do the same until this is changed" to which you respond with "your continued interest in Saint Anthony's". So he's either lying that he reviewed it carefully or doesn't understand what I thought was pretty clear that I had no continued interest in Saint Anthony's. Not to be viewed as completely insensitive ... but my favorite part is "* I will gladly give specific examples"
ReplyDeleteHe didn't read it, that much is clear. You should create a facebook page and gin up some interest to really share these people if this is how you feel.
ReplyDeleteHas anything been done since this article was posted? I am alumni as well and deeply saddened by this. I plan on writing a letter as well.
